Before recently the only concept I had of berets were a complete cliche. It ranged from Black Panther to Parisian in a Café. Ironically, I bought this beret in Paris and wore all black and went to a café so less of a range between the two and more of a marriage of cliches.
IT IS (f)ALL ABOUT HATS.
I was hesitant of these hat trends occurring right now, but I have been really into hats lately. It started with baseball caps but now I want to buy every single hat I see. So, this got me thinking how I can wear my beret and be casual. Without people saying “that girl is wearing a beret.” I know it is not the most daring of outfit choices but for some reason berets were never a practical item.
Favorite Fall Hats
I decided to style the beret with the most “chill” items I could think of, therefor nothing and everything are a bit eye grabbing.
The sweater, which is suppose to be worn like this here I decided to just drape over my arms in Kylie Jenner fashion (I think this is my 2nd Kardashian/ Jenner reference in a row, see last post… I am cut off for the year!) This odd draping of fabric distracts a bit from the beret.
The pop of red with my vintage (circa early 90’s) Coach cross body competes for the spotlight and then of course, all white nikes. They’re so clean and bright… let’s see how long that lasts.
So, did I nail girl-casually-wearing- a-beret?
Are you a hat person? And if so, let me join the club, tell me what is the best hat to wear so I can try it out!
