Holiday Survival Tips: Being an Adult

December 21, 2015

Do you ever really feel like an adult? I look at my life and I think to myself… “I am an adult but I don’t feel old” I think a part of me always imagined adulthood as less of a transition and more of an over night transformation.

Remember your 13th birthday?  You woke up knowing you were a teenager. No one could take that away from you! Your 20’s are an  adulthood transition. I think I have been more equipped than some but honestly most of the enjoyment of being 20-something is to know better but not care… I know I should save every penny but sometimes you must buy the shoes; as an example.

In life risk are rewarded but sometimes only after serious self-doubt and hesitation.

IMG_2196That is what it is to become an adult and I think we will all still be having this internal discussion at 80.

On my list of adult activities… sending out Holiday Cards is a huge sign saying look at me and how I’ve got my sh!t together. So, if you see these images on a card in your mailbox around the 5th of January (because I’m late) act surprised!

We hopped over to H&M for ugly christmas sweaters and for $15 each we murdered the  christmas card game.

While being an adult certainly comes with it’s list of struggles let’s take joy in the independence and set high goals in 2016!

10 Things Adults (try-to) Do to Survive the Holidays

  1. Send Family Holiday/ Christmas Cards
  2. Staying (mostly) sober for New Year’s Eve
  3. Being mostly intoxicated for Holiday Parties
  4. Hosting Christmas or Holiday Dinner
  5. Not giving or receiving Christmas or Holiday Gifts
  6. Complaining about their weight
  7. Drinking wine!
  8. Drinking Eggnog!
  9. Bake cookies and cake
  10. Embrace the holiday spirit that you once had as a kid!

Please leave a comment on what you think is the best christmas photo to send on our card.

PS is the best place I have found to make cards and graphics (oh, and it’s free)

Stay safe and enjoy this holiday season.
