The holidays are full of temptations… From the food to the shorter work schedules and longer mall hours. You can find the havoc of the holidays leaving you a bit bewildered between social obligations and busy schedules… I know at least I feel this way all too often during this time of the year.
We hosted our first Thanksgiving Dinner Party and it was so much fun! It was a small party with only 6 of us but You would’ve thought I was cooking for 50. It was a great chance to bring my American celebration to Switzerland with our friends here, we prepped and cooked for weeks and the day of I was so exhausted I could barely care enough to style my hair and clothes after perfecting the tablescape and plating the food.
It was so much work and I will have to share all of the lessons learned on hosting a dinner party! All in all I would say we have kicked off the holiday season with a success, much gratitude to Pinterest for the inspiration and recipes… The holiday season is in full effect with Christmas markets up all over the city!
Not to mention, the holiday season seems to get longer and longer every year. Next year the holiday decorations will go up in September. The holidays also bring anticipation of the New Year! What will 2016 have in store for us? Here are a few of my Holiday Survival Tips to get you through the season!
Holiday Survival Tips
I will keep sharing my tips through out the season. The First in the Series… Let’s talk hair…I received an early holiday gift from my friends over at Irresistible Me Hair Extensions. (They’re even offering up to 50% off for Cyber Monday.) So I wanted to share a few tips on how to use hair extensions to survive the holiday.
1. Incorporate the colors of the season!
It is fun to wear a red dress to a Christmas party or pull out the sparkled dress for New Years, get in to the seasons colors. A daring change is always to dye your hair! Fall and winter hair colors can give your skin the added glow you’ll be missing from the lack of sunlight.
2. Don’t Stress!
You can do fun hairstyles but if you’re bouncing from place to place be sure to maintain healthy hair as well. Finding the balance between straighteners and curling wands during the holiday season is very annoying. I recommend the Irresistible Me Hair Extensions. I have been wearing them and they are the perfect added touch to an extra long pony tail that gives you the classic and effortless look. So simple and requires no effort!
3. Wear a Hat!
Wearing a hat this season is not only fashionable, it is practical. I love all hats from fun boho chic to sporty and comfy but you always run the added risk of dreaded hat hair! With the Irresistible Me Extensions I not only have gorgeous hair, its nice and full so no risk of hat hair.
And back to my #1 tip, you can color these extensions with no worries… I’ll give y’all an update once I try.. maybe this week. I am thinking a burgundy red is the perfect holiday color.. what do you think?
