I am ready for Spring, but Spring is not ready for me. I have been freezing my butt off week after week in an attempt to provide nice spring wardrobe content but I’m going to keep it real with you, it is so cold outside!
The weather has been crazy here, one day the sun is shining, practically summer and the next it is literally snowing. So in the name of keeping it real I know some of you may be in the same horrible predicament as me so I am showing you how to layer spring pieces to be ridiculously warm and cosy without looking like the Michelin Man or the Pillsbury Doughboy (reference).
1.Add Layers at Different Lengths
Think turtleneck under v-neck or a long jacket under a short one as I did here. This also can make you appear taller, curvier or shorter depending on the lengths you stop your styling at… just look at what how you want each layer to show while you have the clothes on.
2. Mix Spring and Winter Colors
In this option I mixed this season’s it color, rose quartz (pink) with a spring transition color and prints of nude and black denim. The denim jeans are destroyed and I have paired with a black-gray opaque tights to keep extra warm.
3. Mix in Prints and Different Texture
Mixing in prints are just fun and add a pop to any look, this is an easy way to bring on the spring inspiration. I think the most important tip is to mix textures. Knits are great to keep warm but a knit that is to thick will add too much bulk and just make you look bigger than you want to appear. A great light weight scarf is perfect to keep warm in the spring but a winter scarf will look very winter is coming.
To be honest I never tried the stockings under leggings look before but I was so warm and was able to ditch the winter coat while everyone else is running around in winter bundles.
FYI Don’t let the sunshine in the photostrick you, it is 2 degrees Celsius or 36 Fahrenheit outside right now!
