Today I am kicking off the #SexySummer Series. Here I will present to you the hottest summer statements every Friday during the summer and as you can tell; I love an alliteration.
The 70’s undercurrent is running strong throughout this Summer/ Spring which makes me very happy. I personally thrived in bell bottoms all through elementary school when the 70’s surged in it 90’s rendition and I love to insert a little 90’s grunge into my weekend looks so be prepared for all of the above this summer! My for sure summer winner has to be suede.
Listed below are my seven favorite suede statement pieces for summer.
The 70’s return now is much more polished than it was done in the 90’s & it has come about perfectly with bohemian vibes and all.
Suede is certainly my favorite fabric to make a comeback, and do not believe the nay Sayers that are telling you to save your suede for fall because it will be the hottest fabric this season. Suede played a leading role through Milan and New York #fashion Week in Gucci with Creative Director Frida Giannini and Chloé shows respectively. With the heavy boho vibes that have surged lines to create their own “festival inspired” lines don’t expect this trend to stop anytime soon as Coachella has come to end.
There’s a lot of diversity out right now to decide the perfect suede options for you. If you want to go bold in head to toe or you can choose statement pieces like a purse or shoes. There are also an array of price points depending how in love you are with this new relationship with suede.
This is certainly a splurge item in my book because it is seasonless (just add tights to a dress and its winterized) and the fabric is worth the comfort! But you can always mix high & low price points! Everyone dig to the back of your closet and pull out that favorite piece from either era and be oh so relevant again.
I pulled this beautiful vintage suede jacket out of the my mom’s closet to wear with a sexy polished look. Combining a fitted skirt with a loose top adds dimension to the outfit and helps frame the oversized jacket.
I love these chunky peep toe camel booties by Jessica Simpson, the Maizy Bootie is sold out and it is probably because they are very comfortable and a great transition piece. Try to check out similar styles here.
