Y’all know I love an excuse to travel and dress up! So this is our 2nd Summer Destination Wedding, I shared this post last year of my friends beautiful wedding in the South of France and this year we are in beautiful Valencia, Spain.
If you haven’t read my previous wedding guest attire post go check it out for some great tips on how to dress for a wedding.
If you read destination wedding and did an eye roll I will say:
destination weddings have a bad reputation of being a cliché
In reality, when done well, they are a great occasion to spend time with close friends and family. Bennie and I didn’t do a wedding or reception party so I get way too excited to attend others weddings. I mean what is there not to love? You dress up, and there is food and alcohol, that’s pretty much all you need to convince me to go anywhere…
We made friends with the other wedding guest immediately and had big dinners every night. In Spain it is common to eat dinner at 1o pm so we were able to put Langston to sleep in his stroller (he was 4 months old) and mingle with guest as we enjoyed delicious Spanish cuisine.
The venue, Mas d’Alzedo is like something off of Pinterest with the sun shining through wispy tree branches as we sipped lemonade in the promenade.
The part you don’t see on Pinterest is the sweat dripping off of everyone.
The lovebirds were very selective with their guest list and seated us at a table with some really interesting and amazing people. Everyone that attended had a really great relationship with them and it was sweet to get to know everyone.
The beyond classy touch was that they gifted a bottle of signature wine from the groom’s uncle’s vineyard that was bottled just for their wedding.
People came from all over the world to celebrate with the beautiful couple. It was a cultural experience as the guest spoke in Spanish, English, German, Swiss German and French. Valencia is a culturally rich and beautiful city and I would love to go back.
